IT was a two horse race for county council elections in the Seaton Coastal ward. Margaret Rogers (Lib Dem) was defending her seat against a strong push from Conservatives Jim Knight. Mr Knight took the seat with a majority of 135 after polling 1,757 votes

IT was a two horse race for county council elections in the Seaton Coastal ward. Margaret Rogers (Lib Dem) was defending her seat against a strong push from Conservatives Jim Knight. Mr Knight took the seat with a majority of 135 after polling 1,757 votes. Mrs Rogers attracted 1,622 votes. In third place was UKIP candidate Jeremy Allison with 879 votes. The Labour candidate, Judith Blackwell, polled 177 votes Turnout: 48 per cent. Margaret Rogers was a county councillor from 1985-1989 and from 1993-2009.
