ONCE again vandals have targeted Blackmore Gardens' conservatory, completely smashing an ornamental fountain.On Friday, March 28, at about 9pm, police discovered its door had been forced and the fountain smashed.Town Councillor Jeff Turner said: "This is just sheer vandalism, the fountain is damaged beyond repair. I am pretty annoyed about it."He said the fountain had been damaged about four years ago and cost more than £1,000 to repair."I will be reporting this to the next meeting and we will have to decide whether to replace it or not," said Mr Turner, who keeps an eye on the hardwood conservatory, which was built to mark the town council's centenary.Damage to the woodwork and door will cost around £200 to repair.Anyone who witnessed the assault on the conservatory, or who can help police with information, should contact (08452) 777444, quoting crime reference KS/08/190.
