SID VALE Carnival Club is celebrating after coming second in the prestigious Taunton Carnival on Saturday.
Their impressive Mickey's Express float wowed this year's judges.
Marion Perry, secretary of the Sid Vale Carnival Club said: "We are really pleased. Everybody is thrilled to bits.
"We thought perhaps we would come third so we were over the moon when we came second.
"We were up against the big boys and many of the floats at Taunton were much bigger than ours.
"One of our competitors, Phoenix, usually beat us or at least try to, so we were very pleased that we beat them.
"The tractors and float set off at about one in the afternoon and didn't get back until one in the morning. It was a long day but when you come back with that result you forget all about the tiredness."
The club has done remarkably well this year on the circuit winning first in class at five of the carnivals.
Mickey's Express float will next appear at Honiton Carnival tomorrow before travelling back up to Somerset for the Bridgwater Carnival on Saturday, November 7 and North Petherton on Sunday, November 8.
The club is hoping that their float will go on to impress the judges at the popular Bridgwater Carnival.
Marion added: "There are usually about 30 floats at Bridgwater and we usually come about eleventh.
"We don't think we'll do as well as at Taunton but you never know.
