During the summer, the Herald will be celebrating winners in the 2018 Sid Valley Business Awards. Today, we speak with Sidmouth Print’s Tracey Millar, whose business scooped the Professional Service accolade, which was sponsored by Ford Simey.

Q: What’s the history of your business and what does it do?

A: “Sidmouth Print started life in the corner of Sidford Post Office as Sidford Print in 2004, changing to Sidmouth Print when we opened on Sidmouth High Street in 2010.

“The growth and expansion of the business swiftly led to a move to our larger Radway Place premises in 2014.

“We are a local company offering a complete print and design service.

“Graphic design for logos, business stationery, promotional materials, leaflets, brochures, pop-up banners, wedding stationery, personal stationery and invitations, greeting cards and mourning stationery, to name but a few.

“We offer elegant and innovative design solutions which address a range of marketing and communication challenges for businesses and organisations, both large and small - design solutions that not only look good, but work effectively to meet our clients’ goals and help them grow and prosper.

“Since opening our premises in Sidmouth, we also introduced the retail of personal and business stationery, alongside the over-the-counter photocopying, laminating and binding services – offering a one-stop printers and stationers for the whole of the Sid Valley, which it so badly needed, and gave our print and graphic design business a ‘shop front’.”

Q: Where do you see your business in five years’ time?

A: “With our continued growth to date and several ideas in the melting pot - same location, but with new products and services available to meet our clients’ changing requirements.

“The advancements in print technology open up more and more possibilities - it’s an exciting future.

Q: How did it feel to win your award?

A: “Very humbled winning for a third time – it’s a tremendous acknowledgement of what we do and how we do it.

“I have a talented team of staff and this is a wonderful recognition for us all.”

Q: What advice do you have for anyone thinking of starting their own business in Sidmouth?

A: “Location is important and Sidmouth is a good place to do business. We have an excellent range of independent shops and businesses, large and small, which are supported by each other and our Sid Valley community.”

The judges said: “Tracey Millar’s happy team offer a much-appreciated and highly-efficient service to the whole community, and are a go-to destination for all print services. Customer service and a happy relationship with their clients is at the heart of what they do. This is an outstanding local business which makes everyone wonder what they did before Sidmouth Print existed.”
