The generosity and kind will of residents who have donated to the foodbank has been praised.
Co-ordinator Andie Milne, of the Sid Valley Food Bank, has praised residents’ fantastic response to the reverse advent calender.
The idea is that people can donate a treat to someone who needs help. Each day features an item to be included in festive ‘goodie bags’ which will be given out on the last Friday before Christmas.
Andie said, who thanked donors, said: “We are planning on supporting up to 70 clients with festive bags. The Reverse Advent Calendar has identified some of the dry store cupboard items we want to give out, we will also be providing, from financial donations, fresh produce, and gift vouchers.”
The calendar is running until next Friday (December 14). Fulfords Estate Agents, Hair Temple and the Radway Cinema will be acting as drop-off points. Donations can be left at regular Foodbank collection points or taken to the Foodbank at the Unitarian Church on Fridays between 11am and 2.30pm.
