Spirited ramblers are counting down the days until they pull on their boots for the Admiral Nurse Campaign.

The Reverend Mark Barratt is leading a team of 12 to complete the 32-mile course next Saturday (April 30), which will see the walkers tackle some of the coastline’s trickiest terrain.

The newly-named Red Coast Ramblers aim to raise £15,000 for Devon’s first Admiral Nurse. The 16-hour trek will take the team from the Swan Sanctuary in Abbotsbury, Dorset, to the Swan Inn, Sidmouth.

Sid Valley Memory Café trustee Adrian Ford said: “We are really excited that the Red Coast Ramblers have set themselves such a tough challenge to raise funds for our Admiral Nurse Campaign. Although the views will be great, the route has some quite challenging sections, and I hope that the Herald’s readers will get behind them by sponsoring their efforts and welcoming them to the Swan Pub here in Sidmouth at the end of their walk on Saturday evening.”
