AROUND a thousand pounds of gardening equipment was stolen from sheds in Sidbury and Venn Ottery during a spate of break-ins last week.

Homeowners have been warned to be on their guard after high value goods were taken from four sheds in Sidbury on Sunday night (October 4), three days after two Venn Ottery residents suffered similar heartbreak last Thursday (October 1).

PCSO Alex Powe said that locks were "ripped off" sheds before items such as lawn mowers, power tools and a leaf blower were taken.

He added: "People need to be aware what's going on and ensure their shed are extra secure, and take every precaution possible such as putting extra locks on them."

PCSO Powe has urged anyone with information about the thefts to contact police on 08452 777 444.
