PROPOSALS to give Sidbury's Caravan Club a makeover have been backed by town council planners.
Owners of the site on Putts Corner want to replace 20 existing grass pitches with all-weather incarnations so they can be used safely in all conditions.
At a meeting last week, councillors on Sidmouth Town Council's planning committee supported the plans which state no ground of archaeological importance or trees will be damaged if they become a reality.
The Caravan Club also feels improvements will offer better access to people with mobility problems after inclement weather has left existing pitches unusable.
