Sidbury Fair returns tomorrow (Saturday) with a programme of activities for all the family.

Starting off the week is the Horticultural Show at the Village Inn, from 1pm. Proceeds from the show will be donated to Devon Air Ambulance.

On Sunday, the 18th annual fun run and walk will take place from St Giles’ at 11.30pm. Runners are invited to attend an informal church service and warm up before the race.

On the morning of the race, Ridgeway will be closed from 10.45am until 12.45pm. Cars parked in the village car park at Badger Close and Davids Close will not be allowed to leave.

Participants are asked to park in Millennium Green or Hallet’s Field.

The Red Lion is hosting a quiz evening on Monday at 7.30pm and a skittles challenge next Saturday.

Residents will line Church Street on Tuesday for the throwing of the hot pennies, which commences at noon.

Sidbury Fair Day will take place on Wednesday, with stalls opening from 10am. Clay shooting is on offer in the Sidbury Manor Grounds, between 10am and 3pm.

The Jordan Cross Memorial Duck Race will start at 3.30pm.

St Giles’ will hold a harvest thanksgiving service at 7.30pm on Thursday.

The final event of the fair week is an equestrian pleasure ride on Sunday, September 18, at Sidbury Manor. The first horses will leave at 10am and the last horse no later than noon. The event costs £10 for children and £15 for adults. For more details, call Jan Prettejohn on 07989436105.
