PANCAKES were flipped left, right and centre as over 100 people piled through the doors of Sidbury Village Hall for the annual Pancake Day last Saturday.

Organised by members of Sidbury WI, in aid of FORCE and St Petroc's Community in Exeter, over 400 was made thanks to hungry Sidbury residents who ate nearly 200 pancakes.

Mary Tucker, treasurer of Sidbury WI, said: "It went very well. We think we must have made around 180 pancakes by the amount of milk we used.

"It was so busy people had to wait to sit down - I think it was as busy as it's ever been.

"Lots of people said how nice the pancakes were and it really was a great day."

Last year 690 was raised for Devon Air Ambulance but the format was changed this year.

Mary added: "We had coffee mornings and a fashion show at Sidbury Mill last year so you can't really compare the two.

"We didn't expect to make as much as 400 this year and we are very grateful for everyone who came along and supported us.
