Sidbury pupils exhibit artwork at Exeter Cathedral

PUPILS from Sidbury, Newton Poppleford, Tipton St John and Ottery St Mary, are contributing artwork to a major exhibition to celebrate 1,100 years of Christianity in Devon.
They join contributors from more than 80 schools across the county to Heaven in Devon, which runs from Tuesday, June 2 to Saturday, June 6 to raise money for education activities across the world.
The exhibition will feature more than 200 canvas paintings, eight 10-metre long fabric banners; based on designs from 150 pupils, and numerous life-sized human figure sculptures, including full-sized versions of the Last Supper and the Nativity.
Similar exhibitions organised by Devon County Council's Learning and Development Partnership in the last three years have raised more than �14,000 for schools in Africa, Sri Lanka and India.

Pupils will be making further pieces of art in the cathedral during the exhibition, which is open from 10am to 4.30pm from Tuesday to Friday and until 11.30 on Saturday.
