The Sid Valley’s ‘dads on wheels’ have raised more than £2,000 for a pregnancy charity in their bid to get fit.

Mike Harms, Andrew Judge, Brian Taylor and Matthew Meek, took on the Prudential 100-mile cycle in aid of a cause named Tommy’s. As a warm-up, they spent a day cycling outside Sidmouth’s branch of Hays Travel and shared the £720 proceeds with its chosen cause, Dream-A-Way.

Mike said: “It was a great day and to everyone who donated we are extremely grateful for their support. We completed the Prudential 100 in just over six hours.

However, we were on the course for just over 8.5 hours due to two unfortunate crashes, which left us stationary for some time. There were over 26,000 cyclists who took part, a great experience which we are keen to repeat next year.”

Tommy’s funds research into pregnancy problems and provides information to parents.
