SIDFORD Short Mat Bowls Club celebrated its 20th anniversary this week with past and present members.
When the group was first founded the mats were delivered to the hall by Graham Archer from the East Devon Sports Council on a fortnightly basis.
As members increased, fundraisers were organised and eventually the group had enough money to buy its own mats.
The group now has 40 members and three teams which play in the league.
