LOST property collected during Sidmouth FolkWeek has ended up more than 80 miles away in Wiltshire.

Police said the haul of items collected by festival organisers throughout last week has been mistakenly taken out of Devon, although they are hopeful it will be returned to the town in the coming days.

A police spokeswoman said: "Organisers went back to Wiltshire with all the lost property. People have reported a lot of lost items to us, and if they can just be patient there may be stuff amongst it that belongs to them."

Sidmouth's policing team already has a host of items, handed in during FolkWeek, which are waiting to be claimed. These include a camera, wrist watches, a hand bag, purse, a drill, and tartan shopping bag.

Anyone wanting to claim their property can visit Sidmouth police station or ring 08452 777444.
