CAR DAMAGED: Police have appealed for information after a car parked in Manstone Avenue was the victim of an act of criminal damage between 5pm and 7pm last Thursday, September 20. The driver’s door was scratched.

AIR CADETS: Sidmouth Air Cadet Squadron will hold an intake induction evening on Thursday, October 9, at its Chambers Close headquarters at 7pm.

NEW CLUB: Sidmouth’s Emmanuel Baptist Church is running a new club for students.

T-MAC and will involve tea and talk, music, arts, and crafts and will take place on alternate Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 7pm. The next session is on October 3.

POETRY READING: National Poetry Day will be celebrated at Sidmouth’s Norman Lockyer Observatory on Thursday, Ocotober 4, with a “stars” theme.

The Salcombe Hill venue will host a reading by Sidmouth Poetry Readers from 10am to noon. Members will read poems with a stellar connection. Visitors are welcome to come along and listen, or even bring a poem they would like to read or have read.

WAG TREAT: Tickets are still available for an evening with farmer and Radio Devon presenter Tony Beard, the Wag from Widecombe, at Newton Poppleford Village Hall on Friday, October 12.

He will talk about his life and love of Widecombe and Dartmoor, sing a few songs and tell a few jokes. The event is by ticket only and proceeds will go to the village hall. Contact Margaret Kimber on 01395 567965.
