Sidmouth among coastal towns taking on staff for summer rush

COASTAL towns such as Sidmouth are taking on more staff in anticipation of a busy summer, while other areas in the county are claiming Jobs Seekers Allowance.

COASTAL towns such as Sidmouth are taking on more staff in anticipation of a busy summer, while other areas in the county are claiming Jobs Seekers Allowance.

Figures for May, released on Wednesday under the JSA claimant count, show that for the fourth month in a row, the rate for Devon has remained a constant 2.6 percent.

For the first time this year the actual number of people claiming JSA in Devon has fallen by just under 300.
