As we begin the New Year with the introduction of a third national lockdown to try and stem the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, two local charities are offering support to the people of Sidmouth, Ottery and the surrounding area.
The charities Sid Valley HELP and Ottery Help Scheme are both doing their utmost to support vulnerable people in the community during the difficult times that we are facing.
Sid Valley HELP is continuing to provide assistance for vulnerable households during the heightened Covid-19 restrictions. The organisation seeks to carry on supporting those who are unable to do their own shopping, collect prescriptions and even walk their dog. There is also a telephone befriending service available for those who are lonely as well as a selection of local shops that are willing to deliver shopping to those who cannot get out.
You can call the helpline, which is operating as normal, to ask for advice and request help. For information on local health and social care services and organisations and businesses providing delivery services call: 01395 892 011 or visit the website at: www.sidvalleyhelp.co.uk
