SIDMOUTH and Ottery rugby fans could win VIP tickets to see the Exeter Chiefs in action after a lucky Escot competition winner handed the prize back.

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service will host a silent auction for two executive box VIP tickets to see the Chiefs play a match at Sandy Park this season.

A service spokeswoman said a pensioner who won the prize at its Fire Engine & Vintage Vehicle Rally at Escot in June felt he would never use the tickets and wanted somebody else to enjoy the treat.

Cash raised from the new auction will boost the Firefighters charity.

The VIP day will run from 12.45pm to 6pm, and two winners will be entertained along side the Exeter Chiefs' senior executive. Winners will also be treated to a gourmet, three course lunch served with fine wine in the board room before watching the match from an executive box.

Bids for the silent auction can be sent to Monty Perry of 14 Brookdale, Ottery St Mary, Devon, EX11 1EB.
