Nearly 100 turn up to press apples at Sidmouth’s Peaslands Knapp
THERE were apples galore pressed and turned into juice at Peaslands Knapp, Sidmouth, on Saturday morning.
Organised by Sid Vale Association and overseen by volunteer Kate Tobin, nearly 100 turned up with their apples to wash, chop and press them in an apple press loaned by East Devon District Council’s countryside services team.
“Dave Palmer from the team stayed all morning,” said Kate. “Everyone took juice away and all the children tried some.
“A lot of people came with their own apples and got stuck in. We could have done it all day. It was worth doing and would be fun to repeat next year.”
