A group of Sidmouth apprentices have been sent to the Bahamas on a ‘once in a lifetime trip’.

Four young trainees have been given the opportunity to work on one of the world’s largest cruise liners.

The apprentices have been offered the opportunity through an academy programme ran by Fords South West Ltd which is based in Sidmouth.

Clearvac International, the parent company of Fords, services the world’s largest cruise liners and have sent Ryan Watson, Will Thomas, Connor Swingler and Henry Thomas on a two-week stint on the MS Zuiderdam operated by the Holland America Line.

A company spokeswoman said: “The world really is your oyster if you join us via the academy - as an apprentice you’re offered fantastic opportunities to work on some of the largest cruise and super yachts around the world.”
