ARTISTS from around Sidmouth will throw open their studio doors to visitors from Saturday, September 13, as part of Devon Open Studios 2008.
Between then and the following Sunday, there will be a unique chance for the public to meet artists and see them at work.
Devon County Council has produced a series of trail maps for each area, with East Devon featured in Trail Nine.
The event is supported by Devon Art Network and Sidmouth has a number of artists taking part, including Favell Bevan-Arti of Hilltop, Ascerton Road and Sylvia Bance at Nancherrow, Woolbrook Road.
Robert Crisp, well-known for his paintings of Venice, Paris, Prague and London, and Neil Cox, a respected wildlife artist, are both working from South West Art, Old Fore Street, while at Kingfisher Gallery, Sidbury Mill, textile artist Yvonne Johnson, will be working alongside Judith Stephens, who paints mostly West Country seascapes.
Despite being listed as available for just the first day of the event, Weston pastel and oil land and seascape artist Sandy Macfadyen, will be open each day, working from his studio and home at Higher Weston Farm.
He said his home would be "well signposted" from the A3052 near Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary.
