Sidmouth Bowls Bonanza scores �3,300 for charity

A BANK Holiday Bonanza held each year at Sidmouth Bowling Club, has raised around �3,300 to help Sidmouth Voluntary Services.
A BANK Holiday Bonanza held each year at Sidmouth Bowling Club, has raised around �3,300 to help Sidmouth Voluntary Services.
Despite concerns at the overcast weather on Monday, organisers Pat and Bert Hague said attendance was comparable to other years.
Club members tended stalls, which included jewellery, china, bric-a-brac, cakes, books, plants, and a bottle tombola.
Some 23 prizes for its grand draw were donated by local businesses.

During the 40 years it has been running the Bonanza, the Bowling Club has given �50,000 to local charities such as SVS, which operates Twyford House.
