SIDMOUTH Bridge Club remembered one of its late members with a party in her name last week.

Popular Molly Dale, who died last year aged 96, requested in her will that the club hold a celebration in her memory and more than 50 members duly obliged on Tuesday, May 12.

Bridge-player Arthur Howell said: "The very generous and varied lunchtime refreshments gave a new aspect to the concept of a sleeping partner but among those staying awake during the afternoon's Chicago Bridge were Marian Vanstone and Clive Dwerryhouse (1st), Miriam Cameron and Joan Dawson (2nd) and Harry Capewell and Gillian Bleazard (3rd).

"A special word must go to club president Angela Lovatt, who organised the party and was a major reason for the event's success.
