Sidmouth in Bloom mark 40th anniversary with tea-towel fundraising campaign
SIDMOUTH businesses have backed a fundraising tea-towel venture by Sidmouth in Bloom.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, Bloom president Joy Seward has had a special tea-towel designed and printed.
Now Mike Ford of Fords of Sidmouth (pictured right) and electrician David Gater, have each donated £100 towards production costs.
They are pictured with Jane Sutherland-Earl, Sidmouth in Bloom’s chairman, who said: “Having known both Mike and David for a number of years I thought they would not say no to anything we asked them.
“They are two delightful people, always ready to help in the town and support local organisations.”
Joy said a “very generous” donation from Tom Griffiths, who holds the deckchair concession in Sidmouth, would pay for a second batch of tea towels that will be sold, for £2 each, during Sidmouth in Bloom’s presentation night at The Knowle on Thursday, October 21.
*The Bloom committee has to raise £3,000 to plant out a carpet bedding design at The Triangle to mark its 40th year.
