Sidmouth St John Ambulance involved with air and car show
MEMBERS of Sidmouth St John Ambulance and Sidmouth and Honiton Army Cadets were involved in a two-day event to mark VE and VJ Days.
Hundreds flocked to Smeatharpe Airfield to enjoy the air and classic vehicle show, staged by the South West Airfields Heritage Trust and the Royal British Legion.
Bad weather prevented World War Two aircraft, including a Dakota and Spitfire, from landing, but visitors enjoyed a casualty evacuation demonstration from the Army Cadets and saw the St John Ambulance in action with equipment from the past.
Police dealt with a number of calls from the community over noise and disruption from drivers travelling to the site from across the country.
