Keen cooks called upon to take part in Sidmouth Christmas bake off
PUBLISHED: 12:00 12 December 2018
Budding bakers who fancy showing off their festive baking skills are being called upon by the charity Health and Local Food for Families (HALFF).
In a bake-off, cooks are being challenged to either make no-added-sugar mince pies or a Christmas tart.
Entry is free, but you must use the recipes available on the www.halff.org.uk website.
The competition will take place on Monday, December 17 at the Lymebourne and Arcot Community Centre, in Lymebourne Park. The day will begin at 11am, giving people the chance to enjoy tea, coffee and a mingle. Judging will then take place 12.30pm and the two winning bakers will be given a bag of HALFF tasty goodies. Raffle tickets will be available for a prize draw on Saturday, December 22.
Laura O’Rourke, of HALFF, said: “We are really excited about our Bake Off competition in Sidmouth. It’s an opportunity for Sidmouth residents to get together, have some fun and try out these healthier tasty versions of classic Christmas favourites. Good luck to all taking part, may the best bakes win.”
