Sixth formers came together to carry on the event last Thursday, which has been part of the school’s calendar for nearly 40 years.
The tree was donated by King’s Garden Centre and was carried through the town, along the Byes and to the school ahead of the evening’s annual prize giving celebrations. Sarah Parson, Sidmouth College principal, said: “Whilst walking through the town, the students collected money to be used for a community party to be held next week. Staff and students at the college would like to thank Kings Garden Centre for donating the tree and the residents of Sidmouth who supported this fund raising activity. The event was a great success with Sixth Form students getting involved with the festive spirit. I look forward to next year when we see the 40th anniversary of the tree carry.”
