Pupils at Sidmouth College and the town’s primary school took part in workshops to learn about Hinduism.
The event was as part of an interfaith week to introduce pupils to Hindu thinking and practices.
Sushma Sahajpal, a British-born Indian Hindu, worked with students throughout the day.
In the morning, she taught 90 primary school pupils about Indian dancing, yoga and the story of Divali. After lunch, Sushma spoke to A-level philosophy and ethics students about the concept of God in Hinduism and led a yoga session with year 10 teens.
