INQUISITIVE Sidmouth College sixth formers gave district councillors a grilling in a round of political speed dating on Wednesday.

The event, taking place at the college for the third year running, saw normal speed dating rules apply, with students asking each councillor a range of searching questions and scoring their replies-all in three minutes.

EDDC's Democratic Services team organised the afternoon to give councillors and youngsters the opportunity to find out more about each other's views.

Cllr Darryl Nicholas got the nod from Sidmouth's "voters of the future" and was judged to represent their interests and those of their community the best, bagging a crown and bunch of red roses for his efforts.
