A talented artist will see her work go up against some of the best in the country as part of an international poster competition.
Yasmin Thomas from Sidmouth College won the local round of the Lions Clubs International posters for peace competition after impressing judges with her take on this year’s brief.
Artist Bryan Dawkins judged 12 entries from the school before selecting Yasmin, Tommy Bennett, 12, and Lois McGowan, 11, as his top three respectively.
Yasmin’s poster will now be judged in the South West district with hopes her work could reach the final and be named the overall international prize winner.
Sidmouth Lions Club president Alex Blyth said: “Our club will be cheering for Yasmin’s poster in subsequent rounds of the contest in the hope that her vision of Peace with the theme of ‘kindness matters’ will ultimately be shared around the world.”
