STIRRING up a selection of delicious recipes for another year at Sidmouth College, Lois Kelly has brought back her cookery classes due to popular demand.
Her theme this September will be Healthy Economic Cooking, and Lois, from Laskeys Lane, is going to re-run the first 10 lessons for those interested in good home cooking, and a further 10 lessons for anyone who has got bored with their cooking.
"It is an opportunity to be inspired to do new dishes or to swap ideas," said Lois.
With Government-led initiatives on healthy eating, she said the recipes were not aimed at "slimming" but there was an emphasis on knowing what you put in your dishes.
"One of my favourite salads at the moment is Crispy Smoked Bacon Salad. Smoked bacon is very tasty so you only need 2oz (50gms) of cut up lean bacon per person," said Lois.
Having fried the bacon until crispy, the juices are used to make the dressing by adding balsamic vinegar. This is then poured over a pile of lettuce leaves.
