Sidmouth council investigates storage solution

Seafront storage solution could save Sidmouth council 16,000

UTILISING its own storage space along Sidmouth seafront, rather than spend 16,000 annually on storage, is being investigated by Sidmouth Town Council.

Its Traffic Management Group will discuss the possibility of putting a waiver on a traffic order preventing parking and unloading near Sidmouth seafront’s Arches, to enable the council’s Information Centre manager, Ian Cole, to store leaflets there.

At their monthly meeting on Monday, councillors felt the traffic order could apply from 10am, enabling SIC staff to use the seafront storage earlier than that, before coaches arrive in the town.

Councillor Christine Drew said the storage there had to be dry if storing paper products.
