The Sidmouth town, district and county councillor has had to replace his entire wardrobe of clothes after his waistline dropped from a size 38 to a size 32.
Stuart decided enough was enough after he tipped the scales at a weighty 18 stone after Christmas.
He swapped over indulgence and extra puddings for a healthy diet of salad, fish, eggs and yoghourt.
“Some people say I look good, some people say I don’t look good- but I feel like a new man,” said Stuart.
“I was far too big and was too easily tempted by nice puddings and all things sugary.
