COUNCILLORS welcomed Dr Diane (Dilly) Fung to her first monthly meeting of Sidmouth Town Council on Monday after she was elected to serve the Primley ward three weeks ago.

After thanking them for their welcome, and town clerk Trina Jarrett for her guidance, Councillor Fung said: "I look forward to learning more and hope, in time, I will be able to bring areas of skill to this group."

These would include strategic planning, said Dr Fung, who is head of academic staff development at Exeter University.
