Sidmouth donations to benefit Axminster Food Bank

Spare donations at the Sid Valley Food Bank will be used to help other East Devon residents in need.
The Axminster Food Bank had a very busy Christmas and new year and is now running low on stock.
And while the Sidmouth-based charity also had a busy festive period, a steady supply of generous donations from residents in December meant its shelves were well-stocked.
Supplies from the Sid Valley service, which operates out of the Unitarian Chapel in All Saints Road, were sent over to Axminster this week.
Sid Valley Food Bank manager Lois Swarbrick said: “Despite having an excess of some items, we are starting to become very short of others.”
Items needed include sugar, savoury noodles, tinned potatoes, rice pudding, coffee, chopped tomatoes, pasta sauce, washing up liquid and deodorant.
Donations can be taken to the food bank on Mondays between 10.30am and 11.30am.
Provisions can also be left in one of the donation bins at supermarkets and churches in and around the town.
