Precautions remain in place to keep The Donkey Sanctuary closed following the outbreak of equine flu.
The charity made the decision at the weekend to close many of its sites, including Sidmouth, to visitors until further notice.
The popular attraction, which is home to hundreds of donkeys, says none of its animals have been affected by the outbreak and will be under inspection by staff.
Equine flu is very similar to the human strain of the virus and is very contagious to horses, donkeys and mules and range in symptoms.
A Donkey Sanctuary spokesperson said: “Due to the recent outbreak of Equine Influenza in the UK, we have taken the precautionary decision to close all of our sites to members of the public until further notice.
“Our resident donkeys are not affected by this outbreak, but we’re keeping a very close eye on them.”
