ORGANISERS of an afternoon and evening of music in Sidmouth tomorrow hope the event will raise vital cash for Cancer Research.

A fundraising event will take place from 3pm to midnight at the Volunteer Inn.

The Herald last week told the story of organiser David Maddock, who survived cancer while his close friend Brian McConnell died of the illness.

David hopes he can continue sterling work, that has raised more than £7,000 for Cancer Research in the last two years, with the event at the Volunteer.

Live bands will feature, as will a hog roast and barbeque. Tickets (£5) are available from the Volunteer and the Marine.
