Local artist Jacqueline Steel hosts a solo exhibition at Kennaway House, including paintings which led to her being invited to compete in Sky Arts TV show.
Beautiful landscape paintings which earned their artist a place in this year’s Sky Arts Artist of the Year TV show will be on display at Kennaway House from Friday, June 22 until Sunday, July 1.
Local artist Jacqueline Steel put herself forward for this year’s televised search for the nation’s best landscape painter, and says she was “astounded and thrilled” to be selected as a ‘Wild Card’ competitor. But she reluctantly decided not to take part, partly because the filming dates coincided with her solo exhibition in Sidmouth.
The show, called Transitions, includes her submissions to Sky Arts, along with other works ranging from affordable miniatures to larger paintings. And with Jacqueline planning to enter the competition again next year, now could be the time to snap up a piece of her work, as she could well be in the frame for wider success.
