Crews helped paramedics gain access into South Lawn property
Sidmouth fire fighters were called out early this morning (Tuesday) to help paramedics gain access to the home of a 93-year-old woman.
The pensioner had pressed her pendant alarm and not responded to the call taker.
A spokesman for Sidmouth Fire Station said crews were called to the South Lawn property at 6am after paramedics at the scene found a key on the interior door lock prevented them from gaining access.
Fire fighters were able to make contact with the woman before forcing entry into her home and she was left in the care of ambulance crews.
