POLICE are taking a zero tolerance approach against people parking illegally next to Sidmouth fire station.
Fireman say access to the station is continually blocked by cars parking on double yellow lines and despite issuing letters to drivers the situation is not improving.
Stuart Collings, station manager of Sidmouth Fire Station, said: "We have got a problem with people parking on the front and side of the road.
"It affects our chaps responding to calls as they can't park anywhere.
"Lidl is just around the corner and there is plenty of parking there, so they really have no excuses."
Sergeant Andrew Turner of Sidmouth Police said: "We are urging all drivers including disabled drivers not to stop on the zig zag markers and double yellow lines.
"If they leave their vehicle there the police will take action and remove it which will accrue costs of over £100.
