Sidmouth firefighters line up to undertake annual charity car wash
FIREFIGHTERS from Sidmouth will take part in their annual charity car wash at the Woolbrook Road fire station on Saturday, September 17.
A group of 12 retained firefighters – crew of two fire engines - will wash cars in aid of Devon and Somerset Fire Service’s benevolent fund.
Armed with car wash sponges and fire hoses to ‘rinse’ off the suds, the firefighters will be on hand from 10am to around 4pm.
Crew manager Sean Faulkner said: “Normally we have a few people waiting for us to start but with 12 people doing the car wash they won’t have to wait more than a couple of minutes.”
The chaps can tackle camper vans and other larger vehicles, he added, saying there was no set fee for each wash and people could donate what they wanted to.
