Crews called to property in Cotmaton Road
Sidmouth firefighters were called out for a second time today (Tuesday) to rescue a woman trapped in a lift.
A crew left the station at 2.14pm and isolated the lift in a property in Cotmaton Road, allowing the doors to open. This enabled the woman to leave unaided.
This was the second call-out today for the town’s firefighters after crews went to the aid of a pensioner in South Lawn at 6am this morning.
Crews also helped tackle a blaze before it spread onto a thatched roof of a property in Gittisham on Friday (February 24) and rescued a dog from a smoke-filled kitchen in School Street, Sidford, on Sunday (February 26).
