Fire fighters called to Prospect Plaice, Sidmouth, after fat fryer fire
BREAKING NEWS: THE owner of Sidmouth’s Prospect Plaice fish restaurant tackled a small blaze in its deep fat fryer unit this morning (Thursday) after calling fire fighters to the scene.
Two fire crews attended just after 11am but Graham Stout had already put out the fire using a fire blanket and extinguisher.
Manager Karla Edwards said the restaurant would close while the unit underwent safety checks and was cleaned of any smoke damage.
Passer-by Eve Mathews captured the excitement on camera.
