Support is needed to help raise the rest of the cash needed to build a play area at a Ugandan orphanage.
Hannah Vicarage, whose parents founded Gideon’s Trust, set up shop in Sidmouth Prayer Room during FolkWeek and raised £2,400 to improve a school in Bombo.
She now has £250 to install play equipment outside the linked Gideon Anti-Aids Foundation house and hopes to raise the same amount again.
“It will have a slide, swings, monkey bars, a climbing frame and a fireman’s pole,” said Hannah, who one day hopes to build a medical centre on the charity’s land. “This is my second trip, but it will be the first time out there for my husband Mark and Tracy Judge.
“Tracy has been really helpful in helping me with previous fundraising, so I really wanted to get her out to Bombo to meet the kids whose lives she’s helped improve.
“It’s such a rewarding and inspirational experience – the more people who I can get involved and take out there the better!”
