SIDMOUTH grandma Cynthia Baker has commissioned her grandson Ben to perform a fund-raising concert of classical music at Sidmouth Parish Church next week.
As violinist in the highly-acclaimed Chamber group, Trio Boyarsky, Ben Baker, 20, promises to produce an exciting afternoon of well-known works by Beethoven and Dohnanyi as well as a special composition by violist, Konstantin Boyarsky.
Joining Cynthia in the audience will be Ben's parents, Maggie and John, together with sister Rebecca, 14, who is also a violinist, performing at Sheldon Festival two nights before.
Ben has an international reputation as a violin concert soloist. An alumnus of The Yehudi Menuhin School, he is currently continuing his studies on a full scholarship at The Royal College of Music.
His concerto debut was in Istanbul, playing a Mozart Concerto at just 12-years-old and he has since been invited to play regularly with international orchestras worldwide including with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall.
Joining Ben in Sidmouth for the first time, are violist Konstantin Boyarsky and cellist, Amelia Jakobsson-Boyarsky, who together with Ben have being performing as Trio Boyarsky for three years, receiving rave reviews across Europe.
Konstantin, a British/Russian, is a principal violist at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and has an extensive international concert schedule as viola soloist and chamber musician. He is also a composer and arranger.
Born in Sweden, Amelia is a brilliant and versatile cellist and singer who has won many international competitions and prizes in Sweden, Denmark and Canada.
The trio are much in demand and will tour Scandinavia in July and New Zealand in August.
Trio Boyarsky will perform at Sidmouth Parish Church on Sunday, June 20, at 3pm.
Tickets are �8, available from Paragon Bookshop or on the door. Refreshments are included. All proceeds will go to Sidmouth Parish Church.
