Officers have reminded residents it is a criminal offence to flee the scene of an accident after two vehicle owners were left counting the cost of separate collisions.
Witnesses have been urged to take down the registration numbers of offending vehicles after one eagle-eyed resident bagged police a vital clue.
A black BMW parked in Alexandria Road was damaged by an unknown vehicle between Sunday (April 24) and Tuesday.

A blue Audi parked in Ham Lane was the subject of hit and run collision on Monday. A witness left details of the offending vehicle on the owner’s windscreen and a report has been submitted to the force’s collisions unit, said a force spokesperson.
