SIDMOUTH S Twinning Circle is busy preparing to welcome a group of Swiss visitors from Le Locle in 10 days time. The visit marks the 25th anniversary of the twinning between the two towns.

SIDMOUTH'S Twinning Circle is busy preparing to welcome a group of Swiss visitors from Le Locle in 10 days time.

The visit marks the 25th anniversary of the twinning between the two towns.

One of the events planned is a formal civic dinner on Tuesday, October 6, at The Knowle, at the invitation of Sidmouth Town Council.

Council chairman, Councillor Peter Sullivan, will welcome Mon. Haeseler, vice-president of the Conseil de le Commune of Le Locle and his wife, who will be staying for two nights at the Hotel Riviera.

There is a busy itinerary for the Swiss party, including a guided walk around Sidmouth in French, during which each will receive an illustrated booklet of the town, written for the occasion in French by Sidmouth Twinning Circle's chairman, Norma Pearce.

The six day visit, which ends on Saturday, October 10, will include a barn dance and fish and chip meal and a skittles and supper evening at Sidford's Blue Ball Inn.
