READERS in Sidmouth can borrow a mystery book and get a Christmas Day surprise.
READERS in Sidmouth can borrow a mystery book and get a Christmas Day surprise.
Adventurous bookworms are encouraged to choose from a selection of wrapped titles at the town’s library.
The mystery parcels will be stamped out as regular library books which readers aren’t allowed to open until the big day on December 25.
Library staff have been collecting together suitable new books over the last few weeks.

“Take a Christmas chance on a book,” said librarian Gill Spence. “You might find you’ll be reading something you’d have never chosen and find it wonderful.
For many years this has been really popular and the public and staff in Sidmouth love it.”

The Christmas surprise book parcels will be available until 1pm on December 24.
