SIDMOUTH Lifeboat boathouse will host an open day unveiling its two-storey extension to the general public next week.
This will be the first opportunity Sidmouth residents and visitors will have to view the new 90,000 extension and members of the crew will be giving guided tours.
Guest of honour at the event will be David Brooks, who is hoping to raise 10,000 by rowing 12,000 miles in an epic journey across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
On the open day David will be rowing from Topsham to Sidmouth and the lifeboat crew will collect him and escort him to the boathouse.
Freddy Wedderburn, Trustee of Sidmouth Lifeboat, said: "The actual opening was restricted to people committed to the boathouse as we didn't have enough space. So this is why we have arranged an open day for the general public to see the good work which they have supported."
The open day will be held on Sunday, July 26 from 10.30am-4.30pm.
