Sidmouth Lifeboat helps in missing woman search

Beer Coastguard and Sidmouth Lifeboat joined a search for a missing 78-year-old woman from Seaton last weekend. Police and a force helicopter were also scrambled to the scene.

Beer Coastguard and Sidmouth Lifeboat joined a search for a missing 78-year-old woman from Seaton last weekend.

Police and a force helicopter were also scrambled to the scene.

Sidmouth Lifeboat crewman Mark Roden said: "Police and the coastguard were checking back gardens of homes on the cliffs, but she turned up safe and well in Bridport after catching a bus to see relations there."

The bus driver provided police with essential information.
